Cobalt Bikes is rolling out three new models for 2020. Here are the highlights:
Warhawk Gravel Bike
We are really excited about our new gravel adventure bike, we call the Warhawk. If you could have one bike, this would be it. A combination of gravel racer, bikepacker, and drop bar mountain bike. It is a versatile bike that opens up more opportunities and more adventure than you’ll find from activity specific designs. The bike features 5 bottle mounts (3 on frame 2 on fork) and a top bar mount for a food/tool bag and mounts for fenders or front/rear racks. With the 700c wheels, the Warhawk frame can take up to 700x50 tires and still have plenty of room for mud clearance. The frame also supports a 650B wheel option, fitting tires up to 2.1 inches.
On the Warhawk 1.0 bike, we offer this bike with two build options; SRAM Rival 1 hydraulic groupset or Shimano GRX both with 700c wheels.
Our other build option is the Warhawk 2.0 featuring SRAM Force AXS 1x12 and 650b 2.1” tires. We’ve field tested the Warhawk 2.0 on bikepacking trips, on gravel roads, and on single track— it did not disappoint. It even performed well racing cyclocross this season. The Warhawk is one amazing bike, with more features than most gravel or adventure bikes on the market. Both Warhawk models come in matte black or blue-black fade. Frame packages are also available.
Diablo 3.0 MTB
Our newest mountain bike for 2020 is the Diablo 3.0. Different from our previous Hardtail build with a lighter frame, greater tire clearance, and mated with a rigid carbon fork. This bike is light and fun and ready to shred the trails. It’s also built to bikepack in those more rugged environments, or great as a long distance endurance bike.
The larger tires allow you to run lower air pressure to increase your traction and take the edge off the more rugged trails. These two features combined with a but stiff, but light carbon frame make the Diablo 3.0 a really fun MTB, able to tackle your favorite trails. We spec’d this bike with the new SRAM Eagle XX1 AXS 1x12 and added the gold cassette and chain for extra bling factor. The Diablo 3.0 weighs in just over 20 lbs for a 19” frame.
Spitfire Road Bike
Our new road bike offering is the Spitfire. Fast and agile as it’s namesake, the Royal Air Force fighter plane, we may have outdone ourselves with this bike. Carbon wheels with DT Swiss 350 hubs and tubeless Schwalbe G One 30mm tires, SRAM Force AXS 1x12 with 44T upfront and 10-33T cassette in the back. It’s light and nimble weighing just over 17 lbs for a 58 cm frame. We also offer this bike with Ultegra 2x11 Disc groupset.
