If you had your bike shipped you’ll need to take 30 -60 minutes to set up your new bike We ship the bikes with the wheelset, rear derailleur, and handlebars off so it will fit into the bike box. You’ll need to do the following:

  • Install handlebars
  • Secure rear derailleur
  • Inflate tires and install on the bike, remove brake caliper spacers, enure wheel alignment for thru axles to secure properly
  • Install seat/seat post
  • Set proper pressure in suspension shocks, both front and rear (see below)
  • You'll notice that we recycle/reuse bike boxes

Pick up: If you picked up your bike in person there are a few things for you know:

Tightening bolts: Carbon fiber frames offer many great benefits for bikes, they are light, strong and have a long life if treated properly. One area where carbon fiber bike owners limit the longevity of carbon is over tightening bolts on the frame, seatpost, bars and stem. Recommended torque should not be more than 5 nM for bolts securing carbon parts.

If you bought a MTB- be sure to check the shock set up video guide by RockShox available here and set the proper pressure in your fork. There’s a small table on the side of the fork with recommended air pressure settings.

For all riders:

Disc brakes: to get the most out of your disc brakes, we recommend following the “bead in” steps here to avoid squeaky brakes and optimize braking performance.

To get the most enjoyment out of your new bike time and again, be sure to lube your chain regularly and keep your tires inflated to recommended pressure. This will depend on your bike, bike set up, and riding conditions but generally keep it above the recommended minimum pressure as listed on the side of the tire.
